CORPORATE RETREATS
Piney Grove at Southall’s Plantation is conveniently located in
the tranquil countryside between Williamsburg and Richmond, and is a
reasonable drive from Washington, D.C. and Hampton Roads. This is an
ideal setting for a memorable corporate retreat, as it is easily
accessible by car on Interstates 64 or 295, by Amtrak into
Williamsburg or Richmond, or plane into Richmond International
Airport, Williamsburg-Newport News International Airport or Norfolk
International Airport. Strategically located between Williamsburg,
Richmond and Petersburg, the area’s offerings include Colonial
Williamsburg, Jamestown Island, Colonial Downs Racetrack, Busch
Gardens, Water Country, Civil War battlefields, plantation tours,
outlet shopping, world-class golf, horseback riding, river cruises,
wildlife areas and fine dining. Fees will vary based on
group requirements - Completion of a Grounds Contract may be
necessary.

HOLIDAY DINNERS / HISTORIC BIRTHDAY DINNERS
An acclaimed progressive dinner-tours is ideal as a corporate
holiday function, or to celebrate that historic birthday.
An elegant candlelit four-course dinner of Virginia culinary
specialties, such as Virginia Peanut Soup, is served with
"Tours-by-the-Owner" given between dinner courses. The
evening includes visits to Piney Grove - 1790, Ashland - 1835,
Ladysmith - 1857 and Duck Church - 1917. Requires
completion of a Group Tour Contract.
WEDDINGS AND
RECEPTIONS
The gardens and grounds of Piney Grove at Southall's Plantation ,
as well as the collection of quintessential Early Virginia homes, will
provide a romantic setting for wedding ceremonies, as well as wedding
receptions. The perfect outdoor ceremony spots, that accommodate
up to 100 persons, include the raised pedimented porch of Ladysmith -
1857 and the front yard of Duck Church - 1917. Use of the
grounds includes seating for twenty and three tables only. Groups of
twenty-five or more must rent a tent, as only limited covered areas
are available: Groups of twenty-five or more must also reserve
the guest rooms of Ladysmith for two nights in accordance with lodging
reservation and cancellation policies. Requires completion
of a Grounds Contract.
